Revisit to Macao, and HK-part1

Actually, it was the 3rd time for me to visit Macao, and HK, I lost the number of times I had visited this city. But the main reason of going to HK was basically to attend and watch Sammi's concert at HK Coliseum and since I am going there, and Macao is nearby, hence I sort of change my itinerary, by flying to Macao first to visit an old friend, Brandon (as  he is working there and good to pay a viti to find out how he.

Macao airport
The airport is a small one, and on the day of arrival, it was cloudy. Quite a number of visitors mainly from Chinese mainland for casinos mainly ( but not going to write this anymore as I have visited these last year).

The pictures below are walking around the places near friend's place, in another site of Macao, the reclaimed part of Macao, it is known as Coloane.

Behind me is the Chinese part, after crossing the river. It is part of Zhuhai, and I was there last year for an exhibition, in my previous job assignment.

Dinner was at a local Portugese restaurant recommended by Brandon. It was a dinner and like the coconut chicken curry, quite similar to our rendang.

Friend's apartment

Opposite his house is the zoo, nothing much to see.

Macao is very rich now with the casinos, which helps their GDP. And of course with this, the loving cost has also increased a lot compared to the first visit done like 20 years ago....during that time at certain places, food price was quite close to what we had in Penang.
But overall, it is still a nice place to visit, though a small one. If you like casinos, then the main city area would be very attractive. But they also have many places that you can explore.

After zoo, we went our for our lunch in a nearby restaurant which I think it over priced and costly, but it is a norm here. Which means the income here is also much higher than what we may get in home country.

Then as friend's house is near Matzu's temple (妈祖庙), a very popular spot here too, but due to renovation work taking place at the temple visitors are quite less in number.

In the evening we went our for a dinner, and prior to that we went for a few drinks at local bar in the old town area.

And one the say to say good bye to Macao, I found out from the apartment front desk that actually I can take bus from their apartment to the city centre and from there to the border, to take bus to Hongkong, via HZM BRIDGE. the bus I took from One Oasis was bus no 50. I paid 6 Macao dollar, to reach Praca Ferreira Amaral (the main station in front of Lisbao Casino, then looked for bus no 101X to take you to the border (to take bus to HK). Again, need to pay cash 6 Macao dollar, and then you reach the station at Macao end. After you alighted from the bus, just proceed to the counter to buy ticket, you may either buy a ticket to Zhuhai or to HK, please make sure you go to the proper direction or terminal in this building itself. Then you pass through the immigration, and custom checking before you board your bus to Hongkong. Once you arrived to HK you have to go through the immigration in HK, and once you are out, you may take bus to various destination you need. For Tungchung line which is the nearest, you may need to take bus B6, again HK 6 dollar and you may use coins.

The trip using HZM  bus via the bridge is very interesting one, and an experience that you will treasure.
