Opposition Parties in Malaysia

As a Malaysian I just want to put in a few words in my own blogsite.
Honestly I had given my support to the opposition parties in Penang twice before, even flying home specifically to cast my vote but having seen their performance, mostly in terms of economic performance (how they take care of business of the state, on welfare of citizens, tourism, housing needs etc), and on environment together with their modus operandi, I am hesitating, and I am more convinced with what BN government esp our present PM Najib able to do.

1) The PH is only able to highlight IMDB/DOJ issue for the last 1.5 years nothing else.
2) I do not see their capabilities to lead, the business and economy modules and plans, the development they have done.
3) In KL at least I have seen good infrastructure coming up, esp with our MRT line 1 and line 2, super impressive.
4) East cost highway is really impressive and our ETS service is really providing a lot if convenience to the rakyat. And there are many more projects which I really buy what our PM Najib is doing. It is a concrete business plans for Malaysia and I see the future here for us all.
5) In my homestate, I do not see anything serious has been done, except you see overall cleaner penang Island only. But in the mainland of penang state, it is very bad, like we are the second class citizens of Penang and yet we are paying the local municipality charges...., I am not sure what MPSP has done for the betterment and living environment of the rakyat here. At least I do not feel it.
6) Property prices and food prices (cooked) in the island that are extremely crazy.
7) The PH politicians, the way they talk or messages they sent out, I do not feel good. I have not seen their performance as a responsible MP except playing a good politicians.
8) I am not saying BN MPs are good, but relatively I buy them more than the PH MPs. Imagine their plans going all over the country just to talk about 1MDB and DOJ? Seriously is that what is so important? ANd imagine at the same time, the BN politicians doing the same, doing all over the country to talk about Forex Losses, talking about Penang CM's court case, then what will happen to Malaysia then? WHat will happen to each state? Points to ponder.

Foreign Labourers

I was at a convenience store at my sister's residence, ordering a tank of cooking gas, and the shop owner told me it can be delivered only around 4PM. I asked why and he said all his workers already went back to hometown. I asked him, was it because of Raya holidays (thinking they are locals) and he said no, they all left and went back to their home countries, which means they are foreigners. And chatting a bit further, I asked him when will they come back, and he said, no they are not coming. He is now engaging a local part-time delivery contractor. He said he has no intention to bring them back because the asking salaries are very high coupled the registration fees and getting the employment cards or ecard for the employees it would be very hard. And the key point is, he says his biz is very small operation, he can do it and manage on this own. The last sentence I think is the key highlight of this discussion.

1) Why was not he able to consider this or manage on his own in the past and now he can manage it well? Was it business is slower or lesser customers (my observation- I do not think business is reducing as more tenants are staying in this area since day 1, but the higher operating cost is killing his business or impacting his profitability, hence he thinks he can work mostly himself. At the time I was at his shop, he was packing the coconut shreds himself, which in past was done by his "workers".

2) Most employers tend to take foreign labours in thinking they were cheap, etc but now with increasing cost to employ them, it will good that the government can really exert better control on this aspect and prevent illegal labourers from coming in. At least we have a better control in every aspects related to our country's economy and social environment.

3) Hope with this, the employers would not have an opportunity to suppress to salary for locals, which in the past has been always suppressed because the local bosses have an option to take in the foreign labourers. Hopefully, this is an opportunity to correct what is wrong in our employment market. It is the time to make the proper adjustments and justice to our local Malaysians who have been hard hit by the extremely high cost of living  etc.

Padang Besar

Nothing special here but special in my heart, because one was my 4th Uncle and the other one was my cousis sis, and we all are getting older each day. And having the chance to go for a day trip with our improved local train service directly to Padang Besar (the northern most border point with Southern Thailand) is meaningful itself. It is a unplanned trip, but going just for jalan jalan, sight seeing and important thing is just going out together with family members..... that is more meaningful that other things I think.

Best of Friends

Have not been writing for a long time, but suddenly, the urge of writing is coming back.
THis morning, in the whatspp group with so called our best friends grouping, the question on this suddenly arises. What is the definition of best friend, best kind of friendships?

For one, if you only meet once every where is it considered one?
When you occasionally meet up once, do you consider that as one?
ANd whenever you meet up, you are in rushing manner, and going for another appointment, where you do not have actually arranged the time or give priority to other friends who had come from afar, is that considered one.

For me all those might be part of it, but it is simpler.
When you need your friends, they will find time for you, to be with you, to talk to you, and spend time with you, irrespective of how many years you guys have been with each for how long.
That is the real friendship...

After 30 years, this wound is finally out, and once topic is mentioned, it is closed for once and for all.

I always believe if you plan your time well, there is always a way to meet and spend time with your friend, that is if you have the will and treasure the friendship. If there is a will, there is a way (mahu seribu daya tak mahu seribu dalih).

Happy Sunday.
