Langkawi.Revisited, 2017

Last visited this island was like 15 years ago, I guess and have not been back since many year. And this year, I revisit, not for once but twice, mainly the second time around, a so called friend came and wanted to go.
I think Langkawi overall changed a lot, for better, it is more organised, cleaner, more places of attractions, more choices of foods but prices are getting more expensive too, haha.

This time around I went with a friend, and we drove to Kuala Perlis, not only the distance to Langkawi is shorter compared to Kuala Kedah and from Penang Island, it is also relatively cheaper as far as the ferry fee (plying between Kuala Perlis and P. Langkawi). Overnite parking comes to RM 15 per nite for roof covered car parks.

Kuah Town, there are more duty free shops and Body shop's products selling in Langkawi is at least 10% cheaper compared to mainland. Wine and beers are definitely cheaper, but then prices of food are more expensive compared to 15 years back, and even more expensive than certain parts of mainland. And there are more hotels to choose from.

Pantai Cenang is too crowded and has changed a lot that I almost cannot recognize at all. It has become another Patong (Phuket) beach in the making and I do not like this place anymore.

Tanjung Rhu does not have much development, remain almost quite the same like last time.

However, I like this new SKy Bridge, which I think is worth a visit if you have not been there before. I spent almost like half a day here.
The pasar malam (nite market) in Kuah Town is also worth a visit as they have many local food at reasonable prices, and if you have not tried any before, you should pay a visit to this market.

During our lunches, we have tried two places, one being a Wanton noodle shop in Kuah town, which charged I think a horrible price, and one Malay restaurant also somewhere in Kuah Town which charged quite high price for the food items. I think they were over-priced.

But in summary, I think this revisit is quite meaningful and Langkawi gave a better impression this time around.

Thanks Langkawi and hope to go back again soon for a relaxation trip, may be to some smaller islands around the main Langkawi Island.
