The Institution Of Marriage

I am not sure why I choose this topic to write today, but somehow, I just feel I want to say something about this. Anyhow, it goes with the name of my blog, Luahanku, my voice...

Recently, there are too many news, where marriages are concerned, from some stars to some friends and relative that I come to hear and know off.
Of course when one is not happy with one's marriage, then both can choose the option to go separate ways. But why, in the first stage, you go for this stage of marriage, and then only some years later, you found that you want to be free or go separate ways. Marriage, in my opinion, is not for the sake of convenience or a way to demonstrate to society that your obligation has been fulfilled, as a human being. If one is never ready for any of such commitment, then one should not even consider having this at all. Let me illustrate by this example:
I have just met my friend in Shanghai that was a few weeks ago, and she mentioned to me, that her husband is having an affair. They were married for 2 years, a daughter, coming to a year-old soon, and known each other for more than 8 years, came back for him as soon as she finished her study in Australia. And guess what, he told her, that HE NEVER LOVES HER, can you believe this? And to make it worse, he went back to her former girlfriend, who also married, and having a kid of her own, 2 years of age, and at the same time cheating on her husband too. Take a look and consider. Is Marriage, with its vow to take care of each other until old age, has any meaning when things like this happens. I mean, if a couple really find they have some serious problems, and cannot find a solution, then it is better to opt out, though here again, the meaning of marriage is not fully served. Still, it is better than both having the pains. But for the partner to say that he never loves the other half, and having a daughter of 1 year old, is this not cheating, or is this not bullshitting, put it in blunt manner? Have human beings changed so much so, that actually, the meaning of marriage is just like buying a car, when you think it is old or you do not like it anymore, you can just sell it off, or give it away? The answer lies within.....
And far away back home, I heard a cousin who has been married like 20 years ago, is divorced now, because she falls in love with another guy. This may be sounds better than my friend's case, but then again, does it serve the purpose of a marriage? Again, the answer lies within......

And you know what, only bring us Malaysian foods, or whatever food we can get off in Penang/Malaysia, ha-ha.Suddenly this become so precious........

Ok for now, looking forward to my weekend, a short break that I need before travelling to GZ and Shanghai next week.

非诚勿扰(If You Are The One)-谢谢冯小刚

This is a movie, a Chinese mainland movie, filmed by director, Mr. Feng Xiaogang.
The English title is 'If You Are the One'.
The reason I write my comment here is because I think this is one of the best Chinese Mainland movies in recent years and I would say, the content is very simple, yet with elegant/beautiful love storyline and well written script. I am really glad that Mr. Feng came out with this good movie, and I have watched this two times, once in the Cinema, and now, in DVD.
If you understand Mandarin, this makes it more meaningful, just pay attention the dialogues between Shuqi and Geyou and the script in this whole movie. Never once you will get bored. It is not the typically stereotyped Chinese Mainland movie, please check this out yourself.
And coupled the superb acting from Shuqi (舒淇) and Geyou (葛优), I am sure all of you will love this. To my Malaysian, Singaporean, Thailand, and friends all around, please try to get this movie. Joyce, if you have a chance to watch in USA, please do so.

And let's analyze the content here, in Mandarin, and I will translate this in English/Malay language. I have to pause my DVD player a few times to make sure I get this script right:

我没有对不起你
我怎么会舍得惩罚你
你说要我等你三年
我等了
你不会要我的
但是我会好好疼你
一直到我们说好的那一天
我以为可以爱你一辈子
没想到剩下的日子
已经屈指可数了

I did not misbehave nor cheat you,
How can I purposely do something to hurt/punish you,
You requested me to wait for you for three years,
I waited,
I do not think you wanted me,
BUT I will always dote on and care for you.
Until the day we agreed upon our matters,
I thought I can love you my whole life,
I never imagine that, the remaining days for us,
Can be counted on one's fingers

Saya tidak sekali pun pernah menipui anda,
Tidak sanggup saya menghukum kamu dengan begitu sahaja,
Anda menyuruh saya supaya menunggu anda selama tiga tahun,

Note : I have not taken my dinner as yet, just to finish with this.

One Of My Personal Favourite Books

One of my all time personal favourite books, by Robin S. Sharma.
To me, the content is quite spiritual in nature. Have already informed a few friends to read this, like Ah Chooi, YS, and not sure if my niece Natasha have read this. I passed the book to her, hope she has finished with it. Reading this book will help you to balance up your life better and may be setting your priorities in the right manner too. Will share some of my other favourites in the near future.

As I Recall-One Of My Favourite Photos

Picture 1: Guess most people know, the famous building in the Red Square, Moscow. When I was a boy, and I think I was not in school yet at that time, and I was flipping my Uncle's magazine, I think it was Readers' Digest, and I saw this architecture, but I did know during that time, where it was, the name. Later, after reading the story book on Aladdin and the magic lamp, then I always connect it to something like Dreamland. And indeed, when I was here, I feel I was in a dreamland, and imagine, a place that is very rich in history. The feeling is great, just like the first time I was in the Imperial Palace, Beijing.

Picture 3:And this is with Sasha, Dasha's husband. Both are my friends. Compare to Dasha, Sasha is sometimes more serious, and sometimes can be very funny, especially when making jokes.
We are in front of Red Square, everything is red for sure. Any coincidentally, on that day, the color of my shirt too.

Picture 4 : One of favorites, with my friend in Moscow, Dasha, when I was in Moscow. Background, if I remembered correctly is the Stadium used from Moscow Olympics.
We look so cool, with our sunspecs. on and the pose looks very matching.
Dasha is very nice, and very independent lady. And she never fails to smile, no matter how.

I was staying in their house and honestly speaking, during that time, I was having some personal unhappiness, on some issues, and spending time with both of them was nice.
Especially, when Dasha taught me on how to make Russian pancakes, and writing some short notes for me, on the table, welcoming me to their house, it was touching.
And oops, we have more photos when they were back to Kuala Lumpur for honeymoon, but the photos we in a CD rom, and left in Malaysia. May be the next round to post more.

And I hope both Sasha and Dasha read this.

Finally Weekend and Happy Cheng Beng Day (清明节)

I know I am very tired, mentally physically, but I did not know look so horrible, until I went to a mall just now. And you know, in a big ball, with the mirrors all around and those strong spotlights on, gosh, I almost could not recognise myself. And I know I need rest and may be some good and healthy food! But what I need most is my sleep, and since the there is one extra holiday, then it will be a good chance to take a break of which I really need.
Talking about holiday, then we cannot forget about this qingming day, where back in Malaysia, we call it, cheng beng jit, in Hokkien lah... So, I just want offer my prayers to all my beloved ones, who are now in different world, especially my late Grandmother, wherever she is now, I always pray for her happiness. And also my late aunt (whom I always called mak), my late grandpa, ah pek, and all relatives who had left this world, may you all be happy always.......When you grow older, you tend to recall the time of your younger days, and I actually miss my life back then. So simple, peaceful, happy, and full of love, especially from my grandma, ah maaaaaaaaaaa (how I miss calling her this..................).
OK, back to present life now, like the saying goes, the show has to go on, until.......I do not know when.
OK, enough for now. And time to take my shower and have a good rest.....

Note : Flowers, specially dedicated to my late Ah Ma....... her favorite.

As I Recall-Natural Park in Croatia....

As I recall this, and the photo to share. The water is fresh, just like mineral water you drink and the natural park is really beautiful. There are many streams, which later meet and form a river/lake, and when you are in this park, the feeling is like in a fairy tale land.

Enjoy the sceneries and when you have the opportunity, please pay a visit.
