Today, half day tour around the island (I heard Cheju island is 2.5 times larger than S'pore, with only 565K population size, which means plenty of free land spaces for further development. Anyway, the more I explore and learn about Cheju, the more I like it and fallen in love with this place. There are more and more to explore and the weather during day time around 15-18 Degree C is superb. And guess what, there are lots of Abalone here, and I am eating lots of them, and seafood, fresh from the sea, which also means a lot of shashimi. And now too I understood why oranges and tangarines from Cheju are so popular in Korea. And this is the season for citrus here, and you can see the whole island with tangarines, which to me is lovely view and scenery.
Some pictures to share.
Sunrise peak
Sunrise Crater with many types of vegetation
In the rear view, the Sunrise peak, under Unesco listing
The two statue, close to 300 years old, any Polynesian influence? They said this is Mongolian influence which I do not believe so
Cheju is famous for stones, strong winds and ladies, strong ones. Strong ladies here to refer to lady divers, and lady who work to support family....She is not Ninja okay, but a lady diver.
Grasses, can be used to cover the rooftop, like our atap nipah
Dachangjin was filmed here, a few scenes, showing the place where Changjin learn some berbal medicines at a hillside
